I was awarded a post-graduate residency at a darkroom in Stoneybatter, Dublin 7. Over the course of the 3 month residency, I walked through Dublin city with my camera in hand, keeping my eyes peeled for moments that grabbed my attention. During the residency I learned lots of new printing techniques with the enlargers. I learned how to fog the paper for a short burst of time before exposing my negative to create more tonal range in the final image. As a team, we also curated, prepared and hosted our own exhibition.

This series of hand printed black and white photos are the outcome of my time spent at the darkroom. They were exhibited at The Darkroom at the end of my residency in April alongside the work of fellow residents Fionn McErlean and Maria McSweeney.
