A series of short video clips I shot and edited for Helmut Smit’s collaboration with Oatly. During my internship with Helmut, we brainstormed, tried, and tested a multitude of ideas. This run-and-gun approach to the making process is really enjoyable and inspiring. Overcoming obstacles and learning as you go along was super helpful to me.
Helmut Smits x Oatly
For the first short clip, we mixed the old style of pouring milk with the new to create the Double Pour, which allowed the user to pour milk into two coffees at once. Thanks to Kopi Soesoe for letting us use their cafe to shoot this.
This second clip is a quick montage of various people wearing the Oatly packaging as a glove. The hands waving goodbye is a reflection of their slogan ‘Bye Bye Milk’.
Thirdly, this fun clip is a mix of people with a talent of moving their body parts. The song was made by chopping sounds that the cartons can make together with a layer of vocals.
Finally, this run-and-gun clip was made by placing a carton of Oatly yogurt in the revolving door of a shopping center. We got to the mall early to get the clip without people around. This clip is based on a similar video that Helmut took on his phone of a Coke can in the same situation.
