Constitution Hill is a short film I shot on Tri-X Super 8 and developed by hand during my residency @darkroom.ie in Stoneybatter, Dublin.

My aim was to put a contemporary take on the style of early black-and-white flicks. I wanted to show how phones are altering the way we communicate with each other in a satirical, slapsticky style.

Michaela and Carl are dramatisations of typical characters from the heart of lovely Dublin. I wanted to break down the bravado of these Gen-Z’ers and put them in an awkward situation that most of us are all too familiar with.

Massive thank you to the amazing Kate Brosnan and Tom Brennan for giving it socks, and playing their roles so accurately. To Cillian Green for helping me with writing and shooting the film. To Ben Harte for the superb styling/wardrobe. To Jack Molloy for always being on the ball and assisting me. Thank you for your patience. Shouts out to AC130 for letting me use his track ‘Reality Check’. Saoirse Gaffney, Deborah Morah, Natalya O’Flaherty and Taidgh Redmond for helping out/giving advice. Enjoy.
